Meg Ryan Loves Being a Mom to Her 2 Kids
For more than four decades, Meg Ryan has been a household name, thanks to her roles in iconic films like "When Harry Met Sally," "You've Got Mail," "Sleepless in Seattle," and so many more. Throughout most of that time, she's balanced her career with being a mother. Ryan is mom to son Jack Quaid, whom she shares with ex-husband Dennis Quaid, and daughter Daisy True, whom she adopted in 2006.
Over the years, Ryan has been open about the positive impact her children have had on her life and how they continue to help her become the person she's always wanted to be. In a 2008 interview with InStyle (via Yahoo!), Ryan spoke about how her work as a mother is the most important thing in her life. "But most of all, what I'm ambitious for in the 12 hours a day that I'm awake is my kids' happiness," she said. "I just am. I'm either figuring out how to provide for them, figuring out how to say it right, figuring out all those mom things. I want them to be happy. And today I'm happy too."

Jack Quaid
Jack was born on April 24, 1992, to Ryan and Quaid, who were married in 1991 and separated in 2000. Like his parents, Jack was bit by the acting bug and began working in the industry when he was in his early 20s. Today, he has credits in popular TV shows and films including "The Boys," "Oppenheimer," "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," and more.
Despite both his parents' incredible acting success, Jack says he doesn't go to them for advice. "I've never asked them, 'How should I perform this scene?'" he told People in 2022. "The way that this business works is so much different than the way that it worked back then for them. I'm experiencing some things for the first time, like working on a movie set during COVID."
He does, however, feel very lucky that his parents understand the industry. "It's lucky that I got to grow up saying, 'Hey, I want to be an actor' and they understood that. I didn't grow up in a house that didn't quite understand what that meant or a house that would tell me, 'Oh that probably isn't the wisest choice, you should have a backup plan,'" he added. "I had the privilege and I was lucky to have people that understood what that meant and supported me going into it."
Ryan often hypes up Jack's work on Instagram by posting about his new projects.
Daisy True Ryan
Ryan adopted Daisy True from China in 2006. In a Redbook interview the following year (via People), the actor spoke about how she believes it was fate that brought her and Daisy together. "I am convinced, completely convinced that there was nothing random about it. She is the daughter I should have," Ryan explained after noting how the adoption process in China is a lottery system. "I never felt like I was on a rescue mission or anything like that. I just really wanted a baby; I was on a mission to connect with somebody, and Daisy and I got to meet each other this way at this time. We are so compatible. And also having the experience of having had Jack and now to have Daisy in a different way — there's no difference in the love you feel."
While Ryan isn't super vocal about either of her children in order to keep a level of privacy, she does often post sweet throwback pictures of Daisy and Jack on social media.
