Look Back at Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's Relationship Through the Years
In the mid-'90s, Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee were the It couple everyone couldn't stop talking about. From their public displays of affection to a stolen and leaked sex tape that went viral, it's no surprise that the former couple's salacious love story has been retold more than once in various mediums.
On Jan. 31, Netflix debuted a tell-all documentary titled "Pamela, a Love Story," the same day Anderson released her memoir, "Love, Pamela," and both retell her and Lee's story from her own perspective.
The twin releases come in the wake of Hulu's 2022 limited series titled "Pam & Tommy," which starred Lily James and Sebastian Stan as the infamous pair. According to "Pamela, a Love Story" director Ryan White, the Hulu series "traumatized [Anderson] for months," leading the crew to avoid mentioning it on set, per Insider. Shortly before the documentary's premiere, Anderson told Variety that "Pam & Tommy" was "salt on the wound" and noted that the creators "still owe me a public apology."
Anderson reclaims her narrative in her memoir and in "Pamela, a Love Story," giving more scope and context to her life story and relationship with Lee, whose story — for better or worse — has always been bound up with her own. It all began in February 1995, when the "Baywatch" star and Mötley Crüe drummer wed in Cancun, Mexico, after only knowing each other for four days — even getting each other's names tattooed on their ring fingers. They welcomed their sons, Brandon and Dylan, in June 1996 and December 1997, respectively. Anderson and Lee went their separate ways in 1998 only to reunite a decade later in 2008. Unfortunately, they split again in 2010.
